Surrey Black Belt Academy has new 6th Degree Black Belt Instructor!
Congratulations to Mr. Timothy Millard! He successfully tested for 6th Degree Black Academy on July 16th at the ATA World Championships held in Phoenix Arizona.
Mr. Millard was one of over 300 high rank Black Belts mid-term testing or rank testing during the week long event. He performed his traditional taekwondo form, several rounds of sparring against other high rank Black Belts and performed a 4 station board break. All of this done in front of a panel of 16 ATA Masters, Sr. Masters, Chief Masters and Grand Master!
Well done Mr. Millard! Your dedication to excellence and leading by example for your students is outstanding. You have worked hard and overcome many challenges along the way to reach this goal. Your attention to detail, determination to always improve yourself physically, mentally and spiritually are qualities that you promote everyday on the mat and in your personal life.
Mr. Millard’s Testing Board Breaks
“I found out my testing results today and I successfully tested to 6th Degree Black Belt. I am feeling so grateful to so many people who have helped me, inspired me, encouraged me along the way. There are too many to mention everyone, however, I do want to share with you what some of you have meant to me. I want to first give thanks to God for giving me the health, strength, endurance and perseverance to accomplish this goal – Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
To my wife Natasha, who has joined me on this Journey, thank you for all your patience and understanding with me as I was focused on my workout routine and helping me schedule things around to make sure that I had that time to train. You have been so supportive and I love that we both enjoy Martial Arts so much whether it is another tournament or training opportunity, you so often say “lets go”. I also felt privileged to have you sit ring side and encouraging me during my testing this year at Worlds.
To Chief Master Karpiuk, thank you for all that you have done to get me this far, the training you have provided, your belief in me, the encouragement that you have given me, the friendship that we have as well as the opportunity to live out my passion of training students at your school, I definitely feel so grateful for this. To Newton Black Belt Academy, thank you for believing in me but more importantly allowing me to help you build your confidence and belief in yourselves as I have the opportunity share this through Martial Arts. Mr. Pollard, a special thanks to you for always being in my corner and encouraging me to challenge myself.”
