Valentines Buddy Event a Hit!

We had a great time this past Saturday for our Annual Valentines Buddy Event!  The two hour FREE event for our students and their buddies was packed full of fun at Surrey Black Belt Academy located in Newton BC.  The students worked on improving their Discipline with our Legacy Assistant Instructors teaching them different martial arts techniques throughout the event.

In addition to stopping to eat a bunch of pizza, Chief Master Karpiuk taught the students some important listening skills with a fun drill called “Jungle Training!”.  Then it was time for Master Karpiuk to divide the students into smaller groups with Legacy Instructor leaders.  During this time Bully Prevention was discussed.  Then, Master Karpiuk took everyone through some fun and practical Role Play on how to defeat the Bully!

After lunch, the students worked on hand to hand self defense competition against each other in races.  They also raced against one another with board breaking as well.  Master Karpiuk challenged all the students to break more difficult boards each time!  The cheering for one another was loud and enthusiastic!

The event finished with some demonstrations by our Legacy Members.  And we even found some time to teach them all some fun and challenging weapons!  All in all it was a great Valentines Event!

“Newton Black Belt Academy is a great Martial Arts school! The instructors are amazing and are very credible black belters themselves. They’re excellent with kids and are very engaging. Life skills such as respect, self-confidence, discipline, etc. are instilled in their students while remaining gentle in their teaching. Our daughter may sometimes be physically tired from training, but her heart is always happy after every class from the fulfillment she gets from training. Kudos to Master Karpiuk and all the instructors. More power to the Academy!”  Selina E. – Parent
